Carbohydrate Blockers For Weight loss
Carb blockers are a weight loss supplement recently introduced into the weight loss world. Carb blockers claim to block the enzyme alpha-amylase. If the enzyme alpha-amylase is blocked, then carbohydrate hydrolysis is affected. By blocking the enzyme, you block the breakdown of the carbohydrate which affects absorption of the monosaccharide. How so? If the carbohydrate is of complex origin, the enzyme must be secreted to break down the carbohydrate into a simpler form for absorption. In theory, the carb blocker should indeed help to block carbohydrates from being absorbed.
Phaseolus vulgaris is the active ingredient in carb blockers that comes from the white kidney bean. Phaseolus vulgaris interferes with the pancreas’ ability to secrete the enzyme alpha-amylase. Subsequent studies do prove that Phaseolus vulgaris does in fact inhibit the enzyme alpha-amylase.
Carb blockers are another option for weight loss. However, permanent weight loss requires you to make changes to your lifestyle. If you do not change your lifestyle then no matter what diet or supplement you choose, weight loss is temporary and short lived. This also means that if you choose a low carb diet, make sure that this diet can be done. Many people fail the low carb diets because of extreme commitments.

How To Choose the Best Multivitamin and Mineral Supplement
how to choose the best multivitamin and mineral supplement
Most multivitamin and mineral supplements on the market can provide the user with some insurance about getting minimum levels of some known nutrients. They are by no means complete. One problem with these types of supplements is the iron content, a potential free radical (oxidizing agent) for some people. Most men do not need to take iron supplements unless they are suffering from bleeding ulcers or have iron deficiency documented by blood tests. The same is true for all women who no longer have monthly menstrual bleeding. Taking iron in either case can be excessive and cause accumulation in the liver and oxidation (aging or free radical damage). There are some companies that sell multivitamins and minerals without iron. Check labels of different brands at your local health food store.
A better alternative to multivitamins and minerals is the use of whole food concentrates. The science of nutrition has not yet discovered the complete range of vital nutrients currently found in some health promoting foods like soybeans. Various chemical components of soybeans have recently been shown to prevent and even reverse some cancers. Live, whole food concentrates have the unique advantage of supplying the body with enzymes and phytochemicals (carotenoids, indoles, isothiocyanates, isoflavones such as genistein, limonene, phytosterols, etc.) which do not exist in any vitamin or mineral supplement. Additionally, they provide the body with amino acids, polypeptide hormone precursors and other nutrients which provide the vital life force needed by all cells for optimal health. These naturally occurring chemicals may hold the answers to the prevention of all degenerative diseases and aging.
All vitamins and minerals in the body work in cooperation with each other to catalyze enzymes and promote the absorption and assimilation of other vitamins and minerals. For this reason, using a supplement with the widest possible range of nutrients is preferable to single nutrient supplementation.

Artistry Benefits Oily Skin
Fighting Dry SkinTips and facts you should knowDry skin is a problem not just in the winter with its cold temperatures, and howling winds, but dry skin can come from using harsh cleansers, having too hot a bath or even getting on an airplane. Here are a few tips to help you minimize that annoying, itchy dry skin: If you want more skin care tips, visit . Form a Barrier:Moisturizers are designed to reduce water loss from the epidermis (the outermost layer of the skin). In addition to preventing further dryness, they provide a barrier against soot and dirt, make your pores seem smaller and offer a temporary feeling of smoothness. Say "No" to Hot BathsDon't take long, hot baths because this can exacerbate dry skin in the winter months. Instead try short, lukewarm baths or showers. When you get out of the shower, gently pat dry your skin and then moisturize right away. Moisturize! Moisturize!A moisturizer is essential - A moisturizer performs several important functions. It replaces lost water and water-binding ingredients (such as glycerin) help keep it in the skin. Find products like Artistry® Clarifying Balancing Moisturizer with SPF 15, that cleanse and moisturize, saving you one extra step. Your Skin Wants Water!Drink lots of water - Increase your body's natural moisture level by staying hydrated throughout the day. Dry lips?Licking them won't bring relief - it will only make them more dry and chapped. To keep your lips soft and smooth, apply a moisturizing lip salve, especially before bed. Careful How You CleanseWith the cold, harsh, dry winter, using mild cleansers on the skin will help prevent against dry, itchy skin. Learn more To Shower or Bathe?Do you have dry skin? Try showering or bathing every other day instead of daily. This will help your skin maintain the oils that are so essential to great-feeling skin. "Airplane" SkinDoes your skin and hair feel tight or dry when you get off of an airplane? The humidity on a plane can reach as low as 1% humidity on long flights and it can take just a 3 hour flight to sap all the moisture from your skin and hair. So stay hydrated during and after your flight, limit your intake of coffee and alcohol - they just make things worse, carry your moisturizer in your hand luggage to slather on mid flight and before you deplane, splash your face with water and follow by your moisturizer. Seal In The MoistureWant skin that is soft and smooth? When drying off after a bath or shower, apply lotion or body oil while you're skin is still damp. This will help seal in moisture and leave your skin feeling great. Can It Be Contact Dermatitis?Has your skin suddenly become red, itchy or inflamed? Maybe a red rash? You may be experiencing contact dermatitis. Remember that moisturizers can play an important preventative role by increasing the skin's hydration levels and maintaining and repairing the skin barrier.. Inflamed skin is warmer so more water evaporation takes place therefore more moisturizing is needed. Soothe Your SkinDry or sensitive skin, eczema and other factors can result in itchy skin. A traditional way to sooth the itch is to add oatmeal to your bathwater. | ||

| Dandruff is harmless. But that's no consolation if people call you Commander Whitehead behind your bespeckled back and shoulders. Dandruff (or seborrheic dermatitis, in medical terms) affects the scalp and eyebrows--areas of the skin where oil glands are most active--leaving them oily and flaky. Unchecked, dandruff can collect around your ears and cascade down your neck and back. While dandruff seems to run in families, no one knows exactly what causes it. Possible contributing factors include: Whatever the cause of your dandruff, thorough, daily shampooing is the most successful home treatment, To make shampooing more effective: Click here For Dandruff Control Products From Satinique® | ||
